The 1982 classic John Carpenter's "The Thing" will be spawning a remake in 2011, and Nigerian British action star Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje is in it. And contrary to the old norm of Hollywood horror, this black man won't be dying first! (continues below... )

"The Thing" is generally about a parasitic alien lifeform that ingests other organisms, and also takes the appearance of its victims. Naturally, this causes much intrigue and paranoia amongst the crew of a scientific expedition that discovered it, and upon this, the story is built. This new release of the movie, is one that every fan of the original movie would want to see, as it explains events that happened prior to, after the 1982 classic.

The film is currently filming in Canada, and includes Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Joel Edgerton, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Eric Christian Olsen in its cast. It is directed by Matthijs van Heijningen Jr.

We'll be looking forward to this one.
