Akinnuoye-Agbaje Adewale to Voice Dubai Animation Project

Popular British- Nigerian Hollywood actor, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje has been announced to voice the protagonist of a much anticipated though yet unnamed Emirati animation, set to hit the theatres in the last quarter of 2015. This is coming on the heels of his casting to join the fifth season of HBO hit series, Game of Thrones. (continues below... )

The feature which has been in development for the past eight years, is finally in its production stage with Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje voicing the lead character. The movie tells the true story of an African slave, Bilal, who was brought to Arabia 1,000 years ago, fought for his freedom and emerged a superhero who is today an entrenched figure in the Arabian folklore.

The animation is an in-production of Dubai animation and FX house Barajoun Entertainment and according to Barajoun's Chief, Ayman Jamal, it will be first of its kind in the region.

Since hitting Hollywood in 1994, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje has appeared in numerous top films including the highly successful series, Lost, where he played Mr. Eko, The Mummy Returns, G.I Joe: The Rise of Cobra, The Thor Sequel, and Bourne Identity amongst others. It is indeed a fruitful season for the multilingual actor of Yoruba, Nigerian descent.
