Nigerian - British actor Chiwetel Ejiofor is reportedly in talks with superhero movie behemoth Marvel, to join the cast of its upcoming film "Doctor strange". If the deal sails through, he will join Benedict Cumberbatch, who is starring as the titular character - Doctor Stephen Vincent Strange. (continues below... )
Doctor Strange, is a massive fan-base superhero that has appeared in comics published by Marvel since 1963. A former neurosurgeon, he becomes the "Sorcerer Supreme" -- Earth's primary protector against mystical threats.
A number of roles in the franchise are being rumored for Chiwetel Ejiofor. One is the role of Doctor Strange's mortal enemy "Baron Mordo", a bad sorcerer with an entitlement grudge against the hero-physician. Another is "The Ancient One", a semi-immortal who mentors Strange, lastly there's "Wong", a martial arts monk who serves Doctor Strange.
Marvel has not confirmed Chiwetel's involvement in the movie, which is planned for release in November 2016.
Chiwetel Ejiofor, has risen over the years to become one of Africa's proud staples in the world of Hollywood. His top movies include "Children of men", "Redbelt", "Dirty Pretty Things", "Talk to me", "2012", and in 2013 the Oscar winning "12 years a slave" in which he starred alongside Lupita Nyong'o. He was born in London in 1977, to Nigerian parents.
