Swaziland-British actor Richard E. Grant is set to star alongside Natalie Gumede and Tom Bateman in new action drama "The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde" ITV has confirmed. (continues below... )
Richard E. Grant is playing the role of Sir Roger Bulstrode, a head of a secret government department known as The Invisible Men, while Tom Bateman takes the lead role as Robert Jekyll and Natalie Gumede is Bella, who is Robert's love interest in a twisted love triangle. The 10 part drama which will be aired on ITV network is an adaptation of the classic love tale of Robert Louis Stevenson’s ‘Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde’.
Set in the 1930’s era the drama follows the classic tale of Robert Jekyll (Richard E. Grant) who is plagued with two alternate personalities Dr Jekyll (good) and Mr Hyde (evil), as he quests to uncover his real identity, family history and find out the cause of his curse.
Born in Swaziland May 5, 1957,Richard E. Grant is an accomplished actor known for roles in films such as Dracula (1992), Penelope (2006) and Corpse Bride (2005). He Studied English and drama at university in Capetown, South Africa before moving to England.
