Nigerian –British musician Kele Okereke is planning to return to Australia for a solo tour starting March 2015 . The lead singer of famous band ‘Bloc Party’ will be traveling without his band to promote his second solo album ‘Trick’ released in October last year. (continues below... )
It is not Kele’s Okereke’s first time in Australia, as he was there playing sideshows during the Perth’s Circo Festival II in Sydney and Melbourne in 2014.This time is his big break as he will be headlining shows in major cities across Australia.
Commenting about the tour, Kele Okereke said he was exciting to be playing back in Australia .He said the last time he was there, he was able to include dance floor tunes and house music mixes in his performances and the crowd liked it. For the new Album he has produced a mix of the two genres of music and says he can not wait to see it bring two worlds together during his performances.
His Australian tour begins on March 13th in Sunshine - Melbourne and Ballarat – Sidney, to finish up at Perth on 22nd March 2015.
Kele Okereke is best known as the lead singer of British indie rock band, ‘Bloc Party’. He was born Kelechukwu "Kele" Rowland Okereke in 1981 to Nigerian parents in Liverpool. He grew up and schooled in England before forming the band Bloc Party in 2003.
‘Bloc Party’ became famous in 2005 when their first studio album, titled ‘Silent Alarm’ topped the UK music charts.
