Oliver Mtukudzi to perform at Winter Jazz Festival in Ottawa

Zimbabwean music legend Oliver Mtukudzi a.k.a "Tuku" will be joining jazz enthusiasts in Ottawa, Canada on February 8, at the 2015 TD Winter Jazz festival, in honor of the Black History month. (continues below... )

Oliver Mtukudzi will perform at the Dominion-Chalmers United Church, alongside South African jazz artists Alice Tarisayi Muringayi, Mashingireni Mataure, Tendai Samson, Enock Piroro and Munyaradzi Mataruse.

In its first week, the TD Winter Jazz Festival will also feature international Canadian and American artists including the Matt Wilson Quartet, the Jean-Michel Pilc Trio and Charlie Hunter.

Oliver Mtukudzi has won many music awards, and performed in the world's biggest music festivals. He has also been recognized in his country and abroad, for his contribution to music. His awards include, the UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador for Eastern and Southern Africa, the prestigious Cavaliere Order of Merit Award by the government of Italy, among others.
