Talented Nigerian table tennis duo Aruna Quadri and Kazeem Makanjuola have been crowned the 2015 International Table Tennis African Federation (ITTF) champions. The two beat fellow country men Ogidiolu Jide and Onaolapo ojo in the Men’s Doubles last week in Cairo, Egypt. (continues below... )
The duo struggled through the 7 games to beat their opponents in the finals 4-2 to take the top position.
Kazeem Makanjuola told press that their winning strategy was that they knew each others moves very well, having teamed up in many games before, and also keeping their nerves calm.The two have teamed up in doubles durIng their junior years in Spanish and Kuwait opens.
Their win at this year's tournament increases Nigerias team medals to 4, after the team earlier took the bronze and silver in the men's and women's competitions.
27 year old Aruna Quadri is a celebrated Nigerian table Tennis player who has represented Nigeria in many Table Tennis tournaments including the 2012 summer Olympics, the 2014 Table Tennis World Cup.
He recently won the ITTF Table Tennis Player Of The Year award, and ranked 30th best in table tennis worldwide.
