Ivorian –Chelsea football club striker Didier Drogba, has indicated that he would like to play a little while longer with 'the blues'. His contract with the club ends this summer.
Earlier in the week Chelsea FC manager Jose Mourinho had admitted his fondness for the 36 year old striker saying that he would like Didier Drogba to stay at the club. Didier Drogba rejoined Chelsea in 2013 after a free long transfer to Turkish team Galatasaray and China’s Shanghai Shenhua in 2012. (continues below... )
Just last month the former Ivory Coast international announced retirement from his national team duties to pave way for younger players, and also to fully concentrate on winning trophies for Chelsea. He said his decision to stay with Chelsea is driven by the 10-year victory memories that he has created with the club, he said it was something special.
Didier Drogba is best known for his success in the English premier league, having scored over 100 goals for Chelsea football club. He is a fan favourite in Africa having won the African footballer of the yer twice.
For his country Didier Drogba, 36, has scored 66 goals in 106 appearances for Ivory Coast. The talented footballer started his professional football career in France at age 21, when his parents migrated from Ivory Coast to Anthony-France when he was 15 years old.
His early football career he played for semi-professional clubs such as club le mans before moving to Marseille, as a professional footballer. His winning streak got him noticed by English clubs earning him an expensive transfer to Chelsea in 2004
